Absolutely. You expel way more energy in trying to bring back focus when tired rather than just letting your mind wander. Also, as has been proven, some of the best ideas emanate from a wandering mind. When you let the mind marinate on existing knowledge, new ideas happen. So distraction is productive as well, in a way.
